WHAT COURSE DO YOU NEED TO TAKE, AND HOW IS IT OFFERED?

In order to represent buyers and sellers of residential or commercial Real Estate, you’ll need a Broker’s License (more info). To take the state exam for the license, you must pass the 90-hour Broker Pre-license Course from an accredited school, such as the Chicago Real Estate School. CRES offers three ways to take the class: 5-week, Accelerated, and Online. Our pass rate is over 90% for each of the formats, and each has its advantages. Click below to find out more…

5-week Classroom Course

The 5-WEEK 90-hour Broker Pre-license Course is excellent for busy people who want to get their Real Estate license, in a classroom setting. Classes happen on two weekdays per week, either 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM, or 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM, OR one Saturday per week (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM), for a total of five weeks.

The state only mandates 15 hours of classroom time, but we’ve expanded that to 35 hours, which we find to be ideal, and results in our exceptional pass rate. The rest of the time is self-study, but it’s not tracked – you’ll only spend whatever time it takes to master the material. The final exam takes place on the last day of class.

Because we far exceed the minimum required number of hours, it’s not a problem if you have to miss one or two sessions, or if you want to sign up for a class whose first session has already happened. You will have access to our online materials, which include video reviews of each chapter so that you can see what you missed. We can also schedule a make-up session in another class, by special arrangement with our Director, and if you need to switch over to a different session because of “life circumstances”, that’s not a problem.

Accelerated Classroom Course

The ACCELERATED 90-hour Broker Pre-license Course is ideal if you’re wanting to get your license as quickly as possible, in a classroom setting, and if you have a flexible schedule. Classes take place every weekday for two weeks, either 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM, or 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM.

Online Course

The ONLINE 90-hour Broker Pre-license Course has two parts. Part I is Self-study, and Part II is the Applied Measurement Course. If you are a self-starter and like the convenience of fitting learning into your busy schedule, this is a great way to prepare for the state test.

For Part I, you’ll get immediate access to our all-new self-study course. The course consists of 16 chapters, each of which has text to study, a review video, and an interactive quiz. It’s entirely “on-demand”: you can access it any time that is convenient for you (day or night), and you’ll complete it at your own pace (no time limit, unlike many other schools). You can access the course on any device with a web browser – desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Whenever you have questions, our experienced staff can be reached via online messaging or phone call. It’s not necessary to spend a specific amount of time on Part I of the course – the state recommends that you allow approximately 75 hours to master the material.

Once you have completed Part I, you’ll register for Part II, the 15-hour in-classroom Applied Measurement Course, that best fits your schedule – delivered via classroom sessions, or Online Webinars. This will be a review of the material that you learned on your own, with special emphasis on areas that often give students difficulty on the state test, plus intensive practice on math concepts, and real-world examples from our experienced instructors.

Your registration fee for Part I ($449) includes the hardcopy textbook, which can be picked up from one of our branches, or mailed to you at no extra charge. You do not need to register for Part II ($150) until you are ready to attend the class, and there are no further costs associated with the 90-hour Broker Pre-license Course. You’ll take the class test on the final day of your Applied Measurement Course, or by arrangement if you take the Applied Measurement Online Webinar. (There is no exam after Part I of the Online Course.)

The CRES Online Course was built from the ground up by our own team of professional educators, real estate professionals, and technical wizards. Information on the technology we use for our Online Course, plus a video demo, is available here, and if you’re ready to register, just click here!

The textbook is the same for all three course formats. It has been custom-written for CRES, packed with almost 500 pages of real content – no fluff or unnecessary material. The textbook can be picked up in advance, or when you arrive for your first class.
